Overview

We are a well-known Fish & Chip shop located in the market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our team as a Fish and Chip Shop Cook.

Responsibilities

• Taking orders and providing excellent customer service
• Preparing food, including battering fish and cooking chips
• Using the till to process payments
• Checking stocks to maintain sufficient supply without overstocking
• Placing orders with suppliers when required
• Ensuring food preparation meets safety standards
• Maintaining a clean and organised catering environment
• Working as part of a team and using initiative when needed
• Cleaning and maintaining all appliances and shop areas to meet food safety standards
• Preparing and serving food to a high standard that meets customer expectations
• Completing all relevant training as required by management
• Attending team meetings when required
• Taking telephone orders
• Completing full and accurate records
• Using PPE provided as required

Who we are looking for

• Must have experience working in a fish and chip shop or similar environment
• Able to run the shop independently when required
• Available to work weekends (essential) as well as mornings and evenings
• Energetic, self-motivated and trustworthy
• Able to work under pressure and multitask
• Positive attitude, problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
• Good timekeeping and reliability
• Able to maintain good personal hygiene and grooming

General requirements

• Fluent English with good communication skills
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Aged 18 or over
