Job summary

CVS Group is seeking a confident First Opinion Veterinary Surgeon to join the Worsley-based PetMedics hospital in Manchester. The role offers 31–40 hours per week across 3–4 days with one in four weekends, and close collaboration with a 24-hour ECC team and certificate-led clinicians.

You will admit and manage patients with inpatient support, benefit from ongoing case discussions, and have the chance to gain experience in the on-site CT service with full training.

Qualifications

• Qualified veterinarian with current UK registration is required.
• Experience in first-opinion practice and ECC is preferred.
• Willingness to pursue further qualifications and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Admit and manage own patients with inpatient support.
• Provide ECC expertise and case discussions with the team.
• Lead on case management and clinical standards within the service.
• Support development of on-site CT service with training provided.
• Contribute to shaping future direction of the first-opinion service.
