Job summary

Arm is seeking a release engineering expert to join the Infrastructure Solutions team. You will design and maintain build systems for embedded firmware stacks, develop CI/CD pipelines, and automate image generation and release workflows.

The role spans collaboration across firmware, platform, and validation teams to streamline builds, validate changes, and accelerate delivery. Hybrid working is supported, with opportunities to influence multiple SoC programs and customer releases while improving

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in DevOps / Build & Release / Embedded Software environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation.
  • Experience with embedded firmware components and platform software stack.
  • In depth understanding of C/C++ build systems (Make, CMake) and Linux environments.
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Experience in release management, versioning, and artifact handling.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain build systems and pipelines for embedded firmware stacks (e.g., TF-A, UEFI, SCP, bootloaders, Linux)
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for firmware build, validation, and release (GitLab/Jenkins)
  • Automate firmware image generation, signing, packaging, and release workflows
  • Collaborate with firmware, platform, and validation teams to debug build, integration, and test issues
  • Enable per-patch and nightly CI workflows to improve code quality and early issue detection
  • Integrate and manage static analysis and compliance tools
  • Support release engineering activities, including versioning, tagging, artifact management, and partner delivery
  • Improve developer productivity by enhancing tooling, automation, and documentation
  • Drive standardization and scalability across multiple SoC programs and customer releases

Job Overview:
Arm is seeking skilled, experienced, and highly motivated release engineering expert to join our Software Engineering group. As a member of the Infrastructure Solutions team, you will have the opportunity to enable the evolution of Computing Infrastructure using Neoverse based designs.

You will be working with a distributed team spread across Arm’s worldwide engineering centers. In this role, you will work at the intersection of embedded software, CI/CD, and release engineering—helping to streamline development workflows, improve software quality, and accelerate delivery for next-generation Arm-based platforms.
Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in DevOps / Build & Release / Embedded Software environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation
  • Experience with embedded firmware components and platform software stack
  • In depth understanding of C/C++ build systems (Make, CMake) and Linux environments
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Experience in release management, versioning, and artifact handling
  • Understanding of SoC architecture
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across build and integration issues
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills across multi-functional teams
Nice To Have Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with firmware signing, secure boot, or image generation workflows
  • Familiarity with Yocto/OpenEmbedded or embedded Linux build systems
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and validation pipelines
  • Data analytics and dashboarding for CI/test metrics
