Job summary

London Fire Brigade is seeking competent firefighters to join as Firefighter Transferee. This role provides a 24-hour emergency response across London, operating a two-two-four shift and progressing through professional development pathways.

The salary is £47,991 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting), with priority given to those holding HGV/EFAD licences, USAR qualifications, and aerial appliance experience. Applications close on 02 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Be a serving whole-time operational competent, substantive firefighter within a UK local authority fire service.
• Hold a full driving licence.
• Priority will be given to applicants with HGV/EFAD licences and USAR qualifications (USAR phase 2, Confined space and LACE).
• Aerial appliance qualified staff with a valid HGV/EFAD licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide a 24-hour emergency response service across London.
• Operate a two-two-four shift pattern across four watches.
• Progress through development pathways and join specialist teams as opportunities arise.
• Attend a wide range of operational incidents and uphold high professional standards.
