Job description
About the role

BAM Site Solutions is looking to recruit an experienced Fire Service Technician. The position will involve a mixture of working on site and at our Wellingborough depot, with visits to our offices at Morley, Allbrook & Kilsyth.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Services Operations Manager with all aspects of fire protection requirements within our operations.
  • Undertake Fire Extinguisher Servicing, predominantly for BAM Construct & BAM Civils, without supervision.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with the client, demonstrating high standards of customer service that support the client's culture.
  • Work closely with clients to provide equipment and advice that support their business and requirements.
  • Service, install or remove and properly dispose of fire extinguishers or extinguisher parts, as necessary.
  • Support the team installing/maintaining temporary wireless fire alarms – training on this will be provided as required.
  • Work with the team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in BAM Site Solution services.
  • Support any work‑winning activity through the Sales Operation Team.
  • Support and input to risk reviews and implementation of mitigating actions.
  • Give technical support and guidance to the team, clients and other key business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to ensuring policies, processes and procedures support the delivery of compliance.
  • Always deliver the company values and investigate any complaints raised by the customer in a professional manner to ensure satisfactory closure.
  • Liaise with and advise clients and key UK & Ireland stakeholders to deliver a collaborative and professional service.
  • Support initiatives to enhance Health and Safety and reduce environmental impact.
  • Travel extensively with occasional nights away.
  • Carry/lift fire extinguishers, tools and equipment as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • BAFE qualified with a good working knowledge of BS5306 & a Fire Extinguisher Training certificate (4‑day course covering BS5306 parts 3 & 8) from an accredited body.
  • Certification to assess fire doors & fire alarm installation/maintenance is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Smart disposition, confident and methodical.
  • Expert commercial acumen and problem‑solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent client‑facing and supply‑chain facing skills.
  • A high degree of energy and self‑motivation.
