Fire & Security Service Engineer
Location: Cambridgeshire
Hours: 40 hours per week

A growing, well-established Fire & Security provider in Cambridgeshire is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join their expanding service team. This is a great opportunity to work with a respected independent business supporting a wide range of commercial, industrial, education and healthcare clients.
You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and fault-finding across a variety of fire alarm, security, emergency lighting and DDA systems, delivering high-quality work while providing an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain fire alarm systems (addressable and non-addressable).
- Service and maintain security alarm systems.
- Service and maintain emergency lighting and DDA-compliant systems.
- Attend and resolve fire and security system fault calls.
- Complete maintenance reports, site surveys and all associated documentation.
- Participate in overtime and weekend work as required.
- Take part in the on-call rota.
- Maintain van stock and condition reports.
- Assist other departments when needed.
- Escalate major system failures or site issues promptly to management.
- Ensure work areas are left clean and tidy.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and in line with ISO procedures.
Additional duties may be assigned as the business continues to grow.
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of fire and security system servicing, maintenance and installation.
- Commissioning experience preferred but not essential (FIA Units 1, 2/3 and 6 advantageous).
- Fire systems: Kentec, Advanced, Morley (Ziton & Gent beneficial)
- Intruder systems: Texecom, Galaxy (Grade 2 & 3)
- Access control: Paxton, Controlsoft/HID
- CCTV: Dahua & Hikvision
- DDA systems: Baldwin Boxall, C-TEC
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to complete accurate reports and documentation.
- Good understanding of electrical/installation principles.
- IT-literate (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal, written and numerical communication skills.
- Organised, proactive and professional with a strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and a commitment to excellent customer service.
