Job summary

BluetownOnline Ltd in Greater Manchester is hiring a Fire & Security Engineer to install and commission fire and security systems across a variety of sites. You will handle new installations, extend or replace components, and assist with ongoing maintenance while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Role involves field-based, lone-working, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm with some flexibility, and a patch covering Manchester, Oldham and Rochdale postcodes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in installing, maintaining, and fault-finding fire alarms, access control systems, intruder alarms and CCTV.
• UK driving license is required to operate across the patch.
• BS7858 security screening will apply to successful applicants.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out new installation and commissioning of fire and security equipment.
• Install additional or replacement remedial items and assist in maintenance.
• Work within the designated patch (Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale) and participate in the on-call rota.

Job Title: Fire & Security Engineer

Salary: £35 - £40K - depending on experience, plus bonus (OTE £50k)

Working predominantly Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with some flexibility required to support the needs of the business. You will work within a specified patch consisting of Manchester, Oldham and Rochdale postcodes.

Job Description:

As an Engineer, you will carry out new installation and commissioning of fire and security equipment and install additional / replacement remedial items. You will also assist in the maintenance of fire and security systems. You will expand your knowledge on different systems, working with our close-knit team to make a difference in your local area.

The role also includes participation in the on-call rota (currently 1 week in 4) with additional standby and call-out payments.

Your workdays will be dynamic and diverse. Regardless of the task, one constant remains: you will always represent the business and recognise the importance of delivering exceptional customer service. The role is Lone working reporting directly into the Operations Administrator daily where you will be responsible for tackling exciting challenges and contribute to safety. You will be impacting beyond fixing systems; you will safeguard lives and property.

Person Specification:

• You must have at least 3 years' experience in installing, maintaining, and fault-finding fire alarms, access control systems, intruder alarms and CCTV.
• A L3 Qualification in Fire, Security (preferred)
• A Full UK Driving License
• The ability to communicate with customers professionally face to face and via the telephone
• A can-do attitude ensuring customer service is top priority
• Building strong relationships with all our clients
• Self-motivated to work alone to the highest standard possible
• Hard working attitude
• Ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision

Due to the nature of the business, successful applicants will be subject to Security Screening in accordance with BS7858.
