Job summary

Perfect Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a growing Fire & Security specialist for a Fire & Security Design Engineer / Design Estimator based in Chorley, Lancashire. The role combines system design, estimating and technical support across UK projects.

Responsibilities include designing fire and security systems, preparing estimates and BOMs, reviewing drawings and tender documents, and creating AutoCAD layouts.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Fire & Security industry with strong design and estimating skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Knowledge of BS5839, NSI, SSAIB and related standards is beneficial.
• Experience mentoring junior team members would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and estimate Fire & Security systems from enquiry through to quotation and delivery support.
• Produce estimates, bills of materials and quotations.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Create system layouts and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
• Prepare technical submissions and proposals.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, project managers and engineers.
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs are practical, compliant and commercially viable.
• Manage your workload and deadlines.

Perfect Recruitment are working with a growing Fire & Security specialist to recruit an experienced Fire & Security Design Engineer / Design Estimator.

The Role

As a Fire & Security Design Engineer / Design Estimator, you will be responsible for designing and estimating Fire & Security systems from initial enquiry through to quotation and supporting projects through delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing Fire & Security systems to meet client requirements and relevant industry standards
• Producing accurate estimates, bills of materials and quotations
• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Creating system layouts and technical documentation using AutoCAD
• Preparing technical submissions and proposals
• Liaising with clients, suppliers, project managers and engineers
• Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensuring designs are practical, compliant and commercially viable
• Managing your own workload and deadlines

Experience across the following systems is required:

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience within the Fire & Security industry and a strong understanding of system design and estimating.

You should have:

• Experience designing Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems
• Experience producing estimates and quotations
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and client requirements
• Strong technical understanding of Fire & Security systems
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Strong communication and client liaison skills
• Experience with Simpro or similar software would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of BS5839, NSI, SSAIB and other relevant industry standards would also be beneficial.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior members of a technical team would be an advantage.
