Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Fire Safety Engineering / closely related discipline.
• Hands-on experience delivering fire risk assessments and/or fire strategies.
• Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments (infrastructure, defence, nuclear, energy).
• Strong report-writing and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review fire safety strategies, reports, technical notes and sketches, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation and guidance.
• Lead / contribute to design reviews, identify fire risk issues, and propose practical mitigation.
• Carry out fire engineering analysis including smoke modelling, evacuation modelling, temperature/heat spread calculations, and related assessments.
• Engage with clients, designers, and statutory bodies to embed fire safety measures into projects effectively.
• Use computer-based modelling tools to support fire dynamics assessments and simulations.
• Support service development and mentor junior engineers / associates as the function grows.
