Job description

Our client is a multi-disciplined fire safety consultancy delivering high-quality services to clients across the UK. They are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Fire Risk Assessor based in the Southampton area. The ideal applicant will have extensive Fire Health & Safety knowledge, and will possess in-depth experience carrying out fire risk assessments on a range of site types. Applications from Chichester, Winchester, Portsmouth, Eastleigh and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications:

• Must hold the NEBOSH Fire Certificate or NEBOSH Fire Conversion – Technician status with recognised bodies IFSM/IFPO/IFE/NAFRAR would be preferred.
• Ideally, they are looking for an individual who comes from a strong Fire/H&S Consultancy and technical background within the fire industry, having experience in other industries would be beneficial but not essential.
• Must have an in- depth knowledge and experience of undertaking fire risk assessments on various properties, including commercial, industrial and public sectors.
• Hold excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Be proficient in using the Microsoft Package.
• Well versed with the Health & Safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Risk Assessments in various industry sectors, including commercial, industrial and residential.
• Producing fire risk assessments reports and ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety Legislation with regards to fire.
• Delivering presentations and training.
• Providing high level consultancy advice.
• Providing Fire and Safety Guidance and investigating incidents.
• Dealing with issues effectively and appropriately.
• Liaising with clients and staff.
• The successful post-holder will be of smart disposition, confident, methodical and have the ability to show competency in undertaking Fire Risk Assessments without supervision.
• Must be prepared to travel extensively.
