Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Fire Risk Assessor on behalf of one of our clients.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to join a well-established organisation providing professional fire safety services to a wide range of clients across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments and fire door inspections, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.

Our client encourages applications from ex‑military personnel, although all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments on a range of buildings using company software.
  • Conduct fire door inspections at client sites.
  • Record significant findings accurately using the Quidvisrisk app and RMS software.
  • Ensure assessments meet required standards and deadlines.
  • Manage workload, travel, and scheduling to meet commitments.
  • Maintain clear communication with management to support effective coordination.
  • Complete all required administration, including expenses and mileage claims.
  • Provide a professional and positive client experience at all times.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Fire Safety (essential).
  • Proven experience conducting fire risk assessments across various property types.
  • Good IT literacy and confidence using mobile apps and reporting software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK (and occasionally Europe).
Desirable:
  • Third-party accreditation (IFE, IFSM, or FPA).
  • Experience with residential FRA types 1–4.
  • Fire door inspection qualification (e.g. C&G, BM Trada).
