Job description
Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer

TXM Recruit are proud to be working with a rapidly growing electrical business who currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer to join their team across the Slough / Windsor area.

In this role, you'll carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) servicing, repairs, and installations on a range of life safety systems, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

Location: Slough / Windsor
Salary: £31,855 - £40,630 + OTE
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate | Opportunities for weekend work and participation in an out-of-hours call‑out rota

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1), emergency lighting, Nurse Call, and Access Control systems
  • Accurately complete engineer service reports and document findings
  • Identify and report system deficiencies or deviations
  • Maintain and report on emergency lighting systems and associated equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, AOVs)
  • Conduct regular van stock checks, liaising with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement team to ensure adequate stock levels

Requirements
  • A full UK Driving License
  • Previous Fire Alarm Experience and knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
  • FIA training (or equivalent required) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
  • Understanding of BS5839 in particular part one and part 6
