Team Leader (Fire Damper Testing & Inspection)

Location: London, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire & surrounding areas

Role Overview

To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Building and Real Estate Division. SOCOTEC's Fire Engineering and Safety teams provide an award-winning, flexible and forward-thinking approach, as well as a high level of technical capability, providing our clients with cost-effective and practical solutions for the full range of fire safety problems.

Responsibilities

• Leading, managing, and developing a team of fire damper testing and inspection engineers
• Overseeing fire damper testing and inspection across various types of buildings, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high standards of quality
• Providing technical guidance on fire damper systems and relevant building regulations, including BS 9999 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
• Supporting business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing proposals, and managing client presentations and report debriefs

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in fire damper testing or a related area, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role
• Member of Institute of Fire Safety Management (IFSM) with qualifications in Fire Damper Testing and Inspection and Level 3 in Passive Fire Protection
• Excellent knowledge of fire safety legislation including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, Building Safety Act 2022, and British Standards (BS9999, BS EN1366-2, BS EN15650)
• Strong technical understanding of fire damper systems and building services, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills with proficiency in MS Office and business management software
