At Emtec Fire Systems, we deliver high-quality fire protection and security solutions across the UK. We’re currently looking for an experienced Fire & Security Operations Manager to join the team at our Head Office in Uddingston.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team, drive operational excellence, and ensure the commercial success of the business.

The Role

As Fire and Security Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our fire and security division, leading the team, driving performance, and shaping the future direction of the business. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your commercial acumen and operational expertise will make a real impact.

You’ll take full ownership of the division’s operational and financial performance, reporting to the board and playing a key part in our continued growth and success.

What you’ll be doing
  • Taking full responsibility for the operational and commercial success of the Fire and Security business.
  • Overseeing the division’s P&L, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Building trusted, long‑term relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring exceptional service delivery and identifying opportunities for improvement or expansion.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider business to support tender submissions, provide operational insight, and help secure new business.
  • Leading, inspiring, and developing a talented team of engineers, supervisors and support staff to deliver exceptional results.
  • Managing maintenance contracts and installations projects, ensuring all works meet the highest standards of compliance and quality.
  • Monitoring budgets and costs, identifying efficiencies and driving continuous improvement.
  • Championing a culture of safety, quality, and customer excellence in everything we do.
What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a commercially astute, forward‑thinking leader who combines technical expertise with strategic insight and a confident, hands‑on approach.

You’ll have:
  • Proven experience leading operations within Fire & Security, ideally within an M&E or specialist contractor environment.
  • A strong technical understanding of Fire Alarm, Intruder, Access Control, and CCTV systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing P&L performance and reporting at senior leadership or board level.
  • Excellent people leadership skills with a collaborative and motivational leadership style.
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement in financial control and decision making.
  • A proactive, client‑focused mindset, with a genuine commitment to delivering operational excellence.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (FIA training, SSSTS/SMSTS, etc.) are desirable.
