Job description
Overview

We are seeking a Fire Alarm Supervisor to join our Fire Department. This role is responsible for leading our team of experienced engineers to ensure the successful delivery of the Fire Alarm program, predominantly in the social housing sector. The Fire Alarm Supervisor will also ensure the work completed by their team is to specification, compliant and to high quality standards. This will include completing inspections of work and ensuring all certification is completed correctly and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage engineers, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and values-driven culture.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
  • Monitor team performance and provide technical guidance.
  • Participate in staff investigations and disciplinary processes as necessary.
  • Interpret fire alarm drawings and specifications as required.
  • Maintain, repair, and adapt Fire Alarm systems, including Closed Protocol Systems.
  • Deliver regular toolbox talks to engineers and improvers.
  • Conduct onsite supervision visits and perform post inspection reviews of work completed by engineers.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with BS 7671 and BS 5839 standards.
  • Review and authorise certifications completed by staff members.
  • Lead audits and maintain BAFE accreditation.
  • Work safely in accordance with current health and safety and Fire Alarm regulations.
  • Attend client site meetings as required.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve client queries efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide technical advice and support to clients and team members.
  • Complete accurate paperwork using Oneserve Application.
  • Support business change initiatives to improve company operations.
  • Prepare quotations and Variation Orders (VOs), and liaise with suppliers to order materials as needed.
  • Undertake training for continued professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department or directors.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in the Fire Industry.
  • Proven experience delivering structured work programs and KPIs.
  • Passionate about people management with experience leading large teams.
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Highly organised, methodical, and detail-oriented.
  • Collaborative approach with excellent stakeholder management.
What You Will Have
  • C&G Level 3 electrical installations qualification BS7671:2018 (or equivalent)
  • NVQ's & AM2 Assessments (Desired)
  • The FIA BS5839 Fire Detection and Alarm Design Theory and Regulatory Requirements (Essential)
  • SSSTS/SSMTS (Desired)
  • FIA Advanced Installer BS5839 (Desired)
  • FIA Advanced Commissioner BS5839 (Desired)
  • FIA Fire Protection for Electronic Equipment Installations BS6266 (Desired)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
