Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Engineer to service and maintain fire alarm panels across commercial sites in Bristol and surrounding areas. You will travel to sites, test systems and diagnose faults on Gent, Advanced and Morley panels.

The role involves emergency repairs, some small works, and ensuring compliance with BS 5389-1/2. A minimum of five years' experience and willingness to travel within a 40-mile radius are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
• Experience on Gent control panels; additional experience with Advanced and Morley preferred.
• Knowledge of security systems (access control, intruder alarms, CCTV) with Gallagher/Texecom is a plus.
• Strong understanding of BS 5389-1 & BS 5389-2 regulations and manufacturer training.
• Based within commutable distance of Bristol.

Responsibilities

• Travel to commercial sites (schools, offices, hotels, heritage locations) to service fire alarm panels and related equipment.
• Fault-finding, diagnosing and repairing fire alarm systems during reactive repairs.
• Occasional involvement in small works, remedials and minor installation tasks.
• Work will be within 40 miles of Bristol with no overnight stays.

Fire Alarm Service Engineer

Position: Fire Alarm Service Engineer

Location: Mobile - Bristol & surrounding areas

Salary: £41,600 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)

Job Overview

• Travelling to commercial sites such as schools, offices, hotels and heritage locations to complete servicing on fire alarm panels and associated equipment
• Working on fire alarm panel manufacturers such as Gent, Advanced and Morley
• Responding to reactive emergency breakdown repairs, including fault-finding, diagnosing and repairing systems
• Occasionally assisting with small works, remedials and minor installation works

Job Requirements

• 5+ years' experience completing fire alarm servicing and maintenance
• Experienced working on Gent control panels, with additional experience working on Advanced and Morley also desirable
• Experience on security systems including access control, intruder alarms and CCTV systems would be highly desirable, especially manufacturer experience such as Gallagher and Texecom
• Strong understanding of both BS 5389-1 & BS 5389-2 regulations, along with manufacturer-specific training
• Based within a commutable distance of Bristol

Salary & Benefits

• Basic salary £41,600 per annum, negotiable depending on experience
• Company van provided, with an option for an electric vehicle
• 30 days holiday, including bank holidays, rising to 33 days with tenure
• Working hours 8:30am - 5pm
• Travel paid after 30 mins each way
• On call 1 day in every 11 days, with a standby payment for each day, increasing for weekends, with door to door travel paid along with a bonus per call-out attended
• All local work within 40 miles of Bristol with no staying away involved
