Job summary

Get Staff in Croydon is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Life Safety Engineer to join a permanent, full-time team. You will install, service, maintain, fault-find and commission fire alarm and life safety systems across commercial and industrial sites.

The role involves working with advanced and addressable fire alarms, VESDA, extinguishers and specialist suppression systems, with long-term career stability and the chance to develop across multiple manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualified Fire Engineer with proven experience commissioning advanced fire alarm systems.
• Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work on customer sites.
• BAFE Extinguisher qualification and a full UK driving licence.
• Good IT skills and confidence using tablets, mobile devices and digital reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, fault-find and commission fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Work on advanced and addressable fire alarm systems across multiple manufacturers, including VESDA.
• Carry out inspections, testing and remedial works in line with relevant industry standards.
• Provide a professional, customer-focused service while maintaining high standards of workmanship and health & safety.
• Complete accurate job reports and digital documentation, while participating in the out-of-hours callout rota when required.

Fire Alarm & Life Safety Engineer Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge and experience of VESDA systems.


• BAFE Extinguisher qualification and a full UK driving licence.


• Good IT skills and confidence using tablets, mobile devices and digital reporting systems.


• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.

Desirable but not essential

Experience with Ansul/kitchen suppression systems, PAVA, access control and door entry systems, Gent or Protec systems. Further training may be provided.
