Job description

Service Engineer – Emergency Lighting & Fire Alarms (Subcontract Role)

V7 are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on emergency lighting systems and fire alarm systems. This is part of a long-term public sector contract with loads of ongoing work and excellent opportunities for repeat subcontract roles. The work will primarily be in South West London across housing, schools, and care homes. Our client is a rapidly growing national business specialising in the security and fire industry, delivering high-quality installation, service, and maintenance nationwide.

The Contract
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on emergency lighting systems and fire alarm systems.
  • Testing, inspection, and certification of emergency lighting in compliance with BS 5266.
  • Servicing and fault-finding on addressable and conventional fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839.
  • Minor repairs, replacements, and component changes where required.
  • Completing service reports and liaising with site managers to ensure compliance.
  • Work primarily on public sector sites including social housing, schools, and elderly care homes.
