A fire safety services provider in the UK is seeking a reliable Fire Alarm Engineer to install, service, and maintain various life safety systems, including fire alarms and emergency lighting. We’re an established, values‑led fire safety services provider supporting clients across Wales and the South West. Our work spans fire detection and alarm systems, fire suppression, emergency lighting, Nursecall systems, and risk assessment services—delivered in line with UK legislation and recognised industry standards.
You’ll be joining a business with strong quality and compliance focus, operating under ISO 9001 with ongoing investment in health, safety, and environmental management systems, plus relevant third‑party fire industry certifications.
We’re looking for a motivated, reliable Fire Alarm Engineer to carry out the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of fire alarm systems and related life safety systems. You’ll ensure all works are completed to the required standards (including BS 5839, BS 7671, manufacturer guidance and applicable codes of practice), supporting compliance and keeping client sites safe and operational.
Service, maintain, fault‑find and install fire alarm, fire suppression, emergency lighting and Nursecall systems.
Ensure works are compliant with relevant standards including BS 5839‑1, BS 5266 and quality procedures.
Deliver reactive callouts and planned maintenance within SLA expectations.
Commission and hand over systems safely, ensuring accurate documentation is completed.
Build strong client relationships and support them with practical compliance guidance.
Plan and prioritise your workload across your designated area.
Identify additional works where appropriate (surveys, remedials, quotes) and communicate opportunities clearly.
Record job notes, test results and findings on a digital device (training provided).
Work independently on the road with support from a collaborative head office and engineering team.
Essential:

Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Organised, detail‑focused, able to manage time effectively.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Proactive, keen to learn and develop in a fast‑paced environment.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across sites.
