Job description

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer on behalf of our client. In this field‑based role, you will carry out planned maintenance, reactive callouts, and remedial works in line with current British Standards and legislation. You will act as a professional ambassador for the organisation, delivering exceptional service and clear communication to customers. The role will be to cover the Oxford and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver maintenance, callouts, and remedial work efficiently and to required standards
  • Communicate service outcomes and further requirements to customers
  • Maintain van stock to support first‑time fix rates
  • Complete all documentation accurately
  • Identify non‑conformances and recommendations
  • Support junior engineers and collaborate with colleagues
  • Attend required training and participate in overtime when needed
  • Respond to emergency calls within agreed timescales
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in Fire, Emergency Lighting, AOV, and related disciplines
  • Strong understanding of British Standards (e.g., BS5839)
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Capable of prioritising workloads and performing well under pressure
