Job summary

Darwin Recruitment seeks a Senior Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer for London & Surrey, a freelance, site-based role delivering commissioning on high-profile commercial and infrastructure projects before handover.

You will work with leading panel brands (Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Notifier, Morley, C‑Tec, Apollo), require FIA qualifications with ECS/CSCS; driving licence is essential, and BS 5839 knowledge is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Proven track record commissioning fire alarm systems on commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong working knowledge of BS 5839 and current UK fire safety regulations.
• Hands-on experience with one or more major panel manufacturers: Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Notifier, Morley, C-Tec or Apollo.
• Confident fault-finding and diagnostic ability across fire detection and alarm systems.
• Comfortable reading technical drawings and cause & effect documentation.
• Strong communication skills, able to liaise directly with clients and project teams.
• Full UK driving licence.
• FIA qualifications, ECS or CSCS card, and experience on data centre, healthcare, education or industrial projects all advantageous
