Venatu are proud to announce that are a brand new, leading client of ours within the Fire Protection industry are now looking for a Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to join them ASAP! They're a leading and professional safety services provider specializing in comprehensive fire protection and advanced security solutions offering everything from fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency lighting to cutting‑edge CCTV and detection systems. Due to their reliable and comprehensive service demonstrated by their employees and engineers, they've cemented themselves as a solid and very reputable name within the industry for all things fire and security! Due to their consistent growth and expansion, they're now looking for a Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer who’s experienced in GENT to join them.

This is a full‑time role paying circa £42k + Bonus + Company car, laptop and phone!

You will be part of a team responsible for the design, installation, commissioning of fire detection & disabled refuge systems in commercial environments. You will be responsible for the initial set up, programming and testing of equipment in addition to assessing system compliance to nationally recognised standards.

The ideal candidate should be self‑motivated, a team player, with excellent customer service skills who is an already an experienced fire alarm engineer on GENT systems as commissioning plays a significant part of your role!

Job duties include
  • Program, test, and commission fire alarm systems to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct functional tests on all devices.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults or configuration issues during commissioning.
  • Review engineering drawings and system specifications to verify correct installation and system performance.
  • Complete all required commissioning documentation, test sheets, and compliance certificates.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, installers, and other trades to coordinate commissioning activities.
  • Provide guidance or training to end‑users on system operation and basic maintenance.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant standards (such as BS 5839 or equivalent local codes) and health & safety requirements.
  • Support handover processes to ensure smooth transition from installation to operational use.
