Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software testing and quality engineering.
• Experience owning and implementing a product-level testing strategy.
• Strong knowledge of risk-based testing techniques.
• Experience defining the layering of testing across complex software products.
• Significant experience with test automation strategy, frameworks and governance.
• Strong API and integration testing knowledge.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD delivery pipelines.
• Ability to influence engineering teams and senior stakeholders without direct line-management authority.
• Experience coaching testers, developers or automation engineers.
• Strong technical investigation, defect analysis and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience working in an Agile software product or enterprise SaaS environment.
• Strong knowledge of functional and exploratory testing.
• Experience with unit, integration, API, UI and end-to-end testing approaches.
• Browser-based test automation.
• API and contract testing.
• CI/CD quality controls and automated test execution.
• Performance, load and scalability testing.
• Security-focused testing practices.
• SQL and data validation.
• Monitoring and observability principles.

• Promote a culture where quality is shared across the engineering organisation.
• Improve the consistency, effectiveness and maturity of testing practices.
• Define testing standards, principles and governance.
• Establish testing across unit to end-to-end levels.
• Shape automation strategy and improve test suite reliability.
• Embed risk-based testing in planning, development and release.
• Improve testability and quality metrics across teams.
• Coach testers, developers and engineers in quality practices.
• Ensure release decisions are supported by quality evidence.
• Act as SME for software testing and quality engineering.
