Job summary

Hunter Bond is seeking a Backend Programmer to help modernise a large fintech trading platform. You will join a small, focused team delivering a high-performance trading application using cutting-edge tech in a fast-paced front-office environment.

Role focuses on backend development with Java/Kotlin, containerised deployments, and data processing using MongoDB and Databricks. Hybrid London-based work with stakeholder collaboration to drive system design and integration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years backend development in Java and/or Kotlin within financial systems.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker & MongoDB.
• Hands-on with Databricks and exposure to relational DBs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, unit testing, and debugging.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable backend services in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Build and deploy containerised apps with Kubernetes & Docker.
• Work with MongoDB and Databricks for data processing and analytics.
• Collaborate on system design and integration with relational databases.
• Engage directly with stakeholders and tech leads in a fast-moving project.
