Job summary

Cole Connections Ltd is recruiting a Financial Reporting Manager for an established British manufacturing business, now part of a larger Group. The role is fully on-site in Dartford and offers a broad mix of financial reporting, budgeting and business partnering.

You will own monthly reporting, contribute to planning and pricing analysis, and work closely with operational teams to drive improvements across the business.

Qualifications

• Full ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience, including month-end processes.
• Practical budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis experience.
• Sound understanding of UK GAAP and financial controls.
• Analytical skills and ability to build relationships across the business.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and commentary.
• Support statutory accounts preparation and UK GAAP compliance.
• Contribute to budgets, forecasts and long-term planning.
• Develop financial models for pricing, margins and scenario analysis.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Engineering teams.
• Analyze performance, identify trends and drive improvements.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, capital investment appraisals and group reporting.
• Improve financial processes and management information.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, varied position where you’ll take ownership of financial reporting while contributing to budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making.

• Preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports and meaningful commentary.
• Supporting statutory accounts preparation and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP.
• Contributing to annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and longer-term financial planning.
• Developing financial models to support pricing, margins and scenario analysis.
• Working closely with operational teams, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Engineering.
• Analysing financial performance, identifying trends and challenging the numbers to drive improvements.
• Supporting cash flow forecasting, capital investment appraisals and Group reporting requirements.
• Helping improve financial processes, controls and management information.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings strong technical accounting skills alongside commercial curiosity and a proactive approach.

• Full ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience, including month‑end processes.
• Practical experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• A sound understanding of UK GAAP and financial controls.
• Knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing finance principles.
• Strong analytical skills and the confidence to question, investigate and explain financial information.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a business.

You don’t necessarily need to be working at Manager level already. If you’re a capable Management Accountant or Senior Management Accountant looking for broader responsibility and career progression, we’d be keen to hear from you.
