Leading Northern firm of chartered accountants and business advisors, employing c.1,000 staff across several offices and offering a wide range of audit, assurance, tax and advisory services, is seeking to recruit a Financial Reporting Advisory Manager or Senior Managers to support clients in navigating complex financial reporting challenges and delivering high-quality, compliant and insightful financial information.
Responsibilities
- Managing client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser on financial reporting matters including IFRS, UK GAAP and Companies Act requirements
- Leading advisory projects such as accounting for acquisitions, disposals, restructures, and new standards implementation
- Supporting clients with complex financial statement preparation, including disclosures, judgement areas and technical papers
- Collaborating with audit and tax teams to provide integrated solutions to clients, including cross-disciplinary projects
- Mentoring and supervising others whilst delegating work effectively and providing regular feedback
- Reviewing technical accounting memos and financial statements to ensure compliance and clarity
- Contributing to thought leadership, internal training and knowledge sharing across the firm
- Supporting business development activities including proposals, client meetings and networking
- Managing budgets, billing, and WIP efficiently, maintaining profitability across your portfolio
Qualifications
- Strong experience in financial reporting advisory, technical accounting or audit, ideally gained in practice or industry with exposure to complex reporting scenarios
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical grounding in IFRS and UK GAAP
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to technical challenges
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Clear communicator who can engage effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Experience in mentoring or coaching junior team members is an advantage
