Job description

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a commercially minded Financial Reporting Accountant to support the continued growth of Bedrock Systems Group and its operating businesses.

BMSI is part of Bedrock Systems Group, and this role sits within the Group finance team, supporting BMSI and the other businesses across the Group.

This is a hands‑on role that goes far beyond traditional financial reporting. You’ll take ownership of group reporting, statutory accounts, consolidations, budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis across multiple operating companies.

Working closely with the CFO, Finance Director and senior leadership team, you’ll help establish robust reporting frameworks, improve financial processes and provide the insight needed to support strategic and operational decision‑making across the Group.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with commercial business partnering and is looking for a role where they can make a visible impact within a growing organisation.

This is a hybrid position and we welcome applications from candidates across the North West and surrounding areas. However, applicants should be able to travel to our Daresbury office as required for meetings, collaboration and business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial insight, improve profitability and support decision‑making.
  • Develop management reporting, KPIs and dashboards that drive business performance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modelling and variance analysis across the Group.
  • Prepare reporting for senior leadership, investors and lenders.
  • Supporting statutory reporting and ensure compliance with UK GAAP (FRS102) across multiple group entities.
  • Produce monthly group consolidations and manage intercompany accounting activities.
  • Support tax, audit and compliance activities while helping to improve financial controls and processes across the Group.
What We Are Looking For
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Relevant post‑qualification experience.
Experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102) and statutory reporting.
  • Experience of multi‑entity group consolidations.
  • Proven ability to develop and improve management reporting frameworks.
  • Experience within a project‑based, engineering, construction, technical services or similar environment would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing, intercompany accounting and tax compliance.
  • Experience preparing lender or investor reporting would be beneficial.
Skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability.
  • Experience using Sage and ideally Power BI.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and cash flow modelling experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial information for non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, analytical and detail‑focused.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Benefits
  • Hybrid working
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Option to buy up to 5 additional days annual leave
  • BUPA Private Medical Insurance
  • Life Assurance (4 x salary)
  • Company Pension scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • 24/7 GP access through our benefits partner
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Cyclescheme
  • TradePoint (B&Q) discount scheme
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
