Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are seeking a Financial Planning and Reporting Manager to join East Riding of Yorkshire Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This full-time role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based in Beverley, United Kingdom.

You will recruit and lead a team, translate Directorate objectives into clear plans, and drive training and best practices. You will shape service planning, budgeting and workforce strategies to meet organisational needs within resource

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, lead and motivate a team to support a culture of high-quality performance and continuous improvement to achieve excellent outcomes that meet the needs of the organisation within a fixed level of resources. Resolve performance issues in order to support a culture of performance and productivity.
• Manage, plan, organise and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of professional services, translating wider Directorate objectives to a clear service plan.
• Design, develop and deliver training or learning programmes as required and promote a working culture that is based on best practice in delivering services.
• Produce recommendations for service planning, budgets, and workforce planning, using expertise to proactively identify relevant customer, professional or legislative trends that may impact on delivery.

Essential Requirements

• Recognised chartered accountancy qualification together with extensive experience at a senior level in a public sector financial environment
• Extensive knowledge of financial management at a strategic level.
• Experience of leading large and complex projects and programmes that are impactful to the organisation
• Knowledge of the effective use of ICT in delivering financial services
