Job summary

Michael Page International Recruitment Limited is supporting a large public sector organisation in recruiting a strategic Financial Planning Director. You will lead the Medium-Term Financial Plan, oversee annual budgets, advise senior leadership, and drive governance and transformation initiatives.

The role requires senior-finance expertise, excellent communication with both financial and non-financial audiences, and a track record of developing high-performing teams within complex organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of the organisation's Medium-Term Financial Plan.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual budget setting process.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to senior executives, leadership teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Support robust financial governance and effective decision-making across the organisation.
  • Manage and develop members of the financial planning and business partnering team.
  • Monitor key financial resources including reserves, provisions, and corporate budgets.
  • Lead statutory and government financial returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to major transformation programmes, business cases, and strategic projects.
  • Prepare high-profile financial reports for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Deputise for senior finance leadership when required and represent the organisation at key meetings and external networks.
