Job summary

Stephen Bell Associates in London is seeking an experienced Team Leader/Supervisor to mentor and train a team of financial planners and advisers. The role focuses on coaching, performance development and driving revenue for the team while maintaining high service standards.

You will guide advisers through complex retirement planning, ensure FCA compliance, and manage T&C activities under the Training & Competence scheme, working closely with senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of financial advisers or financial planners.
• Relevant qualifications include Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
• Must hold competent adviser status with SPS and up-to-date CPD.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching, mentoring, training and leadership to a team of financial planners and advisers.
• Develop revenue and sales performance across the team to deliver results for clients and the business.
• Support advisers with complex planning cases including retirement income planning.
• Manage workflow and workload to optimise efficiency and ensure service standards and deadlines are met.
• Ensure full FCA regulatory compliance and other applicable requirements.
• Implement and maintain the Training & Competence scheme in collaboration with Heads of Training & Competence and Financial Planning.
• Conduct and document observations, file reviews, one-to-one meetings and other T&C activities within agreed timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

• provide coaching, mentoring, training, and leadership to a team of financial planners and advisers, supporting both business objectives and individual development goals
• develop revenue and sales performance across the team to deliver exceptional results for clients and the business
• support advisers with complex planning cases including retirement income planning.
• manage workflow and workload to optimise efficiency and ensure service standards and deadlines are consistently met
• ensure full compliance with FCA regulations and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• implement and maintain the standards outlined in the company’s Training & Competence scheme, working closely with advisers, fellow supervisors, and the Heads of Training & Competence and Financial Planning.
• conduct and document observations, file reviews, one-to-one meetings, and other T&C activities within agreed timeframes.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have experience as a team leader or supervisor to a team of financial advisers or financial planners; a strong background in providing financial advice to clients over the telephone and face to face with good exposure to retirement planning, financial planning and pensions transfers and advice.

The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills; Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and/or Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning; current holder of competent adviser status; a valid Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) with up-to-date Continuous Professional Development CPD and good IT skills.
