About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Performance Business Partner to join our Finance team. This role is integral to improving the firms financial performance by combining detailed financial analysis with practical guidance and coaching for our legal teams. The successful candidate will provide actionable insights, support strategic decision-making, and work closely with solicitors and practice groups to enhance billing practices, pricing strategies, and overall profitability.

Location: Norwich (with travel to all Spire Solicitors offices across Norfolk)

Department: Finance & Business Performance

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse financial performance across individuals and practice groups, including billing, WIP, recovery rates, and profitability.
  • Prepare and present clear, insightful reports for solicitors, team leaders, and senior management.
  • Deliver one-to-one coaching and group training on billing, pricing, and financial best practices.
  • Monitor at-risk WIP and collaborate with teams to reduce lock-up days and prevent write-offs.
  • Partner with Marketing and fee earners on pricing for client pitches and profitability reviews.
  • Support strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and financial awareness across the firm.
Skills and Experience
  • Strong background in financial analysis, ideally within legal or professional services.
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
  • Proven ability to coach and influence professionals at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial data clearly.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to performance improvement.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
