About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a results-oriented Financial Manager to lead their finance department in East London, Eastern Cape . This senior role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and compliance. The Financial Manager will play a key role in strategic financial planning, providing critical insights to drive business growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

• Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and banking relationships.
• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, working with departmental heads.
• Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary support for audits.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and financial process improvements.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; a professional qualification such as CA(SA) or ACCA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory position.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, South African tax laws, and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pastel) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector is highly advantageous.
• Proven leadership, team management, and strategic planning abilities.
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
