Job Description:

The Financial Lines Specialty Claims – Cyber Claims Technical Specialist will report to the Global Head of Cyber Technical Claims, General Insurance, and is responsible for technical oversight of all assigned complex, cyber-related large losses for North America / International, General Insurance.

The role is responsible for executing on the GI Claims strategic vision and approach to and resolution of large cyber and data privacy claims driving claims consistency by product, developing best practices, providing technical claims oversight across all products, and partnering with underwriting on trends and loss control strategies.

In addition, have a customer focused approach to help drive a differentiated claims service which provides a positive outcomes and resolutions. The role will partner closely with the underwriting teams in helping to service and secure new business opportunities. In addition, contribute to the broader strategic direction and transformation of the General Insurance claims organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical oversight of claims across all cyber-related and specialty Financial Lines products, focusing on overall claims consistency, loss control efforts, appropriate vendor partner selections, controlling incident response costs, best practices, lessons learned and technical trainings across all regions and products in North America / International, General Insurance.
  • Formulating claims best practices and cultivating vendor partnership opportunities based on current and evolving market and product trends, as well as emerging risks.
  • Overseeing the management of cyber incidents, implementing cost effective and consistent incident management strategies to move cases towards timely resolution, and evaluating policy responses and losses to advise on coverage, necessary loss control measures and policy enhancements. Developing a formalized cyber claims onboarding initiative to be leveraged across all regions to ensure insureds and brokers understand the incident response process during a cyber crisis and how the policy is designed to respond.
  • Feedback into the Underwriting, Product and Cyber Risk Advisory teams on policy wordings, emerging risks, trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Developing and delivering technical claims training content.
  • Engaging with region and product teams in Cyber and other Specialty Financial Lines to maintain overall consistency for cross-product / cross region exposures.
  • Developing a collaborative and proactive approach that ensures “more eyes on the file” for select transactions, severe losses and on certain complex claims.
  • Supporting ongoing Major Financial Lines technical claims improvement projects through initiatives to foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with internal Cyber and Specialty Financial Lines Underwriting and Distribution teams in order to provide excellent customer service and meet client’s needs.
  • Building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with key external business partners across Cyber and other Specialty Financial Lines to ensure that service delivery meets appropriate standards and expectations.
  • Developing tools and strategies, in collaboration with HR, to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing technical claims teams.
  • Driving a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity and inclusion.
