Do you have you have what it takes to make sure crime does not pay? Would you like a rewarding and challenging role tackling organised crime?
An exciting vacancy has arisen in West Yorkshire Police's Financial Investigation Unit for a Financial Investigator, based in Leeds or Wakefield, but required to travel within West Yorkshire.
As a Financial Investigator, you will have conduct of a wide variety of cases and be expected to utilise all your powers to strip criminals of their ill-gotten gains (confiscation, cash detention, account freezing orders, listed assets). You will also be responsible for developing and assisting with the investigation into money laundering offences.
Once fully trained, you will be expected to be part of an 'on call' rota of Financial Investigators. This rota provides 24 / 7 cover to assist a wide range of other investigations (for additional recompense).
This a demanding role. You will be investigating complex matters. You will be expected to attend Court on a regular basis and give evidence. You will have conduct of a large and diverse caseload.
This is a career progression role. At appointment you will receive training, attend courses and be allocated a mentor.
Accredited Financial Investigators are welcome to apply and depending on their experience and qualifications applicants may be appointed at the top of the pay scales advertised (or somewhere in-between).
The role will also benefit from a mix of office and agile working (working from home).
Please note that when you have successfully completed the progression criteria you will be placed on the 'Advanced' grade. Currently this grade is also entitled to a £9,000 per annum additional Market Factor payment. This is only paid to those on the 'Advanced' grade. This Market Factor factor is reviewed annually by an independent panel, is not part of the contracted salary and is not guaranteed.
