This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Crime Manager to join the Line of Business Financial Crime Advisory Team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial crime and Commercial Banking in HSBC UK. This is an integral role that will be responsible for providing financial crime guidance and advice to colleagues on financial crime matters including: Anti Money Laundering, Fraud and Sanctions.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Financial Crime Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Playing a role in helping assess the Financial Crime risks arising within the CMB business, with particular focus on Money Laundering, Fraud, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, tax evasion and Sanctions.
  • Act as SME for key areas of regulation including but not limited to Payment Services Regulations (PSRs) and the UK Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs).
  • Building strong stakeholder relations with CMB 1LoD teams, such as distribution, and Risk teams.
  • Developing and maintaining a good understanding of the CMB customer controls and distribution channels.
  • Participating in new and in-flight deliveries and ensuring all aspects of financial crime controls are adequately considered as part of the review
  • Assessing applicability of regulatory developments and providing guidance to 1LoD on interpretation and implementation of regulatory change.
  • Review, analyse and challenge the business on key financial crime risks.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • A good understanding of the Financial Crime risks including Money Laundering, Fraud and Sanctions.
  • Good knowledge of the UK regulatory environment including but not limited to -PSRs,Money Laundering Regulation andConduct related regulations such as Consumer Duty and their impact on how financial crime risk is managed
  • An understanding of HSBC’s Non-Financial Risk Management Framework.
  • Ability to manage competing stakeholder priorities at one time.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and contributing to team output and collaboration.
  • Confidence to interact, influence and negotiate with business management.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills, inter-personal skills.

The base location for this role is Birmingham on a hybrid working basis.
