Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment are partnering with a fast growing hospitality brand in London to appoint a Financial Controller. You will own financial control, reporting, and help build processes to support growth.

This hands-on role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification, strong financial reporting and a track record of leading a finance team. Expect a 4-days-in-office, 1-day WFH pattern and broad exposure to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• ACA/ ACCA / CIMA qualified, or equivalent.
• Experienced Financial Controller or senior finance professional.
• Strong background in financial reporting, controls and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts, reporting packs and financial analysis
• Lead month end and year end close processes
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow
• Strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting
• Oversee transactional finance, including AP, AR and payroll
• Manage VAT, tax compliance, statutory reporting and audit requirements
• Partner with operational teams to improve cost control, margins and profitability
• Provide clear financial insight to support commercial decision-making
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting efficiency
• Develop and support the finance team as the business continues to scale

The Opportunity

I am partnering with a fast growing hospitality brand to find a Financial Controller who can play a key role in the next stage of their journey.

Built around high quality, freshly prepared food, this is a business with a strong identity, a loyal customer base and ambitious plans for the future. With the company set to double in size over the next three years, they are now looking to strengthen their finance function with an experienced Financial Controller.

It’s an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit, entrepreneurial team where you will have genuine visibility across the business and the opportunity to make a tangible impact.

The Role

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of financial control and reporting while helping build the processes, systems and insight needed to support the next phase of growth.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail but can also step back, understand the commercial picture and help the business make better decisions.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, or equivalent
• Experienced Financial Controller or senior finance professional
• Strong background in financial reporting, controls and process improvement
• Commercially minded and comfortable partnering with non finance stakeholders
• Confident working in a fast paced, growing environment
• Hands on, proactive and comfortable taking ownership
• Experience within hospitality or food & beverage required
• Experience managing and developing a finance team
