Job summary

White Horse Employment are working with a well-established business group to recruit a Financial Controller. This role is for a fully qualified accountant who will take full ownership of the financial performance of a key area, with commercial and operational oversight.

You’ll lead on management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and controls, while supporting statutory reporting and group planning. It’s a hands-on role with strong exposure to both finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience across financial and operational finance.
• Strong understanding of FRS/IFRS.
• Excellent Excel and accounting systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial management and month-end process for one group entity.
• Prepare management accounts, KPIs and insightful financial commentary.
• Oversee budgets, forecasting and business partnering.
• Maintain robust balance sheet controls and financial processes.
• Lead efficiency and improvement projects, including activity-based costing and scenario planning.
• Ensure compliance across FRS/IFRS, VAT, tax and duty requirements.
• Support statutory reporting, group planning and wider finance projects.
• Partner with operational and senior stakeholders to drive performance.
• Provide support and cover across the wider finance function when required.
