Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Staffordshire

Working pattern: Full Time

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 p.a. + Bonus

Marks Sattin is partnering with a well-established and growing food manufacturing business in Staffordshire to recruit a Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team. Operating from a purpose-built production facility, the company produces a wide range of high-quality products for wholesale, catering, and food service sectors. The business is entering an exciting new phase of development and seek a commercially minded Financial Controller with experience within the FMCG or manufacturing industries. This is a pivotal role for a commercially minded and technically strong finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll lead the site's finance function, reporting to the Group Financial Controller, and act as the key liaison between local operations and group-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:
  • Delivering weekly profit and KPI reports to local and group stakeholders
  • Preparing and presenting monthly management accounts and board packs
  • Controlling overhead costs and provide variance analysis
  • Leading the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting cycles
  • Managing cash flow and capital expenditure forecasting
  • Managing product costings and customer margin analysis
  • Supporting new business tenders and challenge factory KPIs
  • Ensuring robust financial controls aligned with group policies
  • Overseeing internal and external audit processes
  • Maintaining compliance with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements
  • Management of four direct reports. Delegating tasks, reviewing performance, and developing team capability
  • Representing finance in strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives
  • Driving optimisation of the newly implemented ERP system
To be considered, you will:
  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Have proven experience in senior finance roles within manufacturing or FMCG
  • Have strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Have excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Be able to manage competing priorities and tight reporting deadlines
  • Be a competent user of ERP Systems and Microsoft Excel
