Overview

Full Time, Monday to Friday (Hybrid working available). Based at Head Office, Wigan.

As Financial Controller at Ainscough Crane Hire, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the financial success and stability of the business. This highly influential position offers direct exposure to our shareholders, banking and funding partners, auditors, and legal advisors, while providing critical financial insight and support to the Ainscough Executive Board.

You'll lead core finance teams covering financial control, credit risk and control, and purchase ledger, and take ownership of key areas including working capital management, budgeting and forecasting, and financial governance.

About Ainscough Crane Hire

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct line management of the financial control, credit risk and control and purchase ledger teams, with further oversight of insurance and property matters.
  • Preparation and review of monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPI's for inclusion in the board pack.
  • Review and control balance sheet accounts.
  • Working capital management and reporting.
  • Preparation of budget and forecast P&L, Balance Sheets and Cash flow.
  • Track and challenge delivery of key strategic business transformation projects.
  • Work closely with the CFO, CEO, Head of FP&A and Head of Commercial Finance.
  • Review financial business cases for investments in cranes, depots and IT.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, company secretarial and reporting requirements.
  • Management of the Group's insurance position.
  • Financial review of property leases renewals.
  • Monitor forecast and actual covenant headroom under the group's banking facilities.
  • Lead the control environment improvements of the finance modules of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Person Specification
  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Knowledge of FRS102 Reporting
  • Experience of private equity and working with funding banks.
  • Experience of managing cash flow in a volatile market.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Strong technical accounting / reporting knowledge (FRS102).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to present complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Coaching style, leading by example and developing teams to reach their true potential, valuing the role each person plays.
  • Strong excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems - SAPB1 and Dynamics 365
