Responsibilities

• Own the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial accounting systems.
• Lead Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit Control and cash management.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
• Prepare statutory accounts and manage the audit process.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, Customs and other statutory requirements.
• Produce monthly management accounts and board packs.
• Review financial controls and procedures.
• Coach and develop the finance team.
• Present financial insights to the Senior Leadership Team.

Job description

Financial Controller - Nottingham - £75,000 + hybrid working (4 days on-site) + flex start and finish times

We are working exclusively with an innovative International organisation who are looking for a Financial Controller to play a key role within their organisation. If you are a commercially minded finance leader with a passion for accuracy, controls and team development then this role could be perfect for you.

This is a high-impact role with real ownership of the financial control environment, statutory reporting and the end-to-end planning cycle across multiple entities. You’ll lead a motivated finance team and drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and reporting, ensuring the business remains compliant and well-positioned for future growth.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial accounting systems
• Leading Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit Control and cash management
• Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning
• Preparing statutory accounts and managing the audit process across all countries of operation
• Ensuring full compliance with VAT, Customs and other statutory reporting requirements
• Producing monthly management accounts and board packs
• Reviewing and strengthening financial controls and procedures
• Coaching and developing the finance team to deliver high performance
• Presenting financial insight to the Senior Leadership Team and Board

About you

• Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Track record in financial control, statutory reporting and audit
• Strong team leadership and people development skills
• Excellent understanding of financial planning, cashflow and controls
• Advanced IT skills and comfortable working in a dynamic, growing environment
• Confident communicator who can influence at senior levels
• Knowledge of safeguarding (or willingness to develop this as part of the role)
