Reed Finance is proud to be working in partnership with a high-growth organisation to recruit a commercially aware Financial Controller.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key leadership role within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and control, while leading a finance team. This is a hands‑on role ideal for a commercially minded qualified accountant looking to make a real impact in a dynamic and expanding business.

Duties Include

• Lead the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, board packs, and performance reports
• Oversee all financial accounting and reporting activities across the business
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure ledgers are maintained to a high standard
• Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational needs
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
• Oversee VAT, PAYE, and HMRC submissions in line with current legislation
• Liaise with external auditors and lead audit processes
• Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision‑making
• Drive automation and system enhancements within the finance function

Requirements

• The candidate must be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong technical accounting skills with experience in statutory and management reporting
• Proven leadership experience in a fast‑paced finance environment
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
• Commercially minded with a focus on accuracy and process improvement
• Hands‑on, proactive approach with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
