Role Overview

As Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Director and leading a small finance team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and strategic support during the company’s expansion. This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified finance professional with a background in retail or ecommerce.

Key Responsibilities

• OverseeAccounts Payable and Receivablefunctions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Manage theFixed Asset Register, ensuring correct capitalisation and depreciation.
• Lead theMonthly Management Reportingprocess, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
• PerformBank Reconciliationsand ensure integrity of cash balances.
• Produce and analyseStock Reports, working closely with merchandising and operations.
• Develop and maintainCashflow Forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Assist inBudgetingandCost Managementfor new store openings in the UK and overseas.
• Support the FD withfinancial planning,scenario modelling, andboard reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Mentor and develop junior finance team members.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Accountant(ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Proven experience in asimilar level rolewithin aUK based retail or ecommerce business.
• Excellent finance systems skills including Xero in addition to Shopify and Peoplevox
• Strong understanding of retail operations, stock management, and multi-channel environments.
• Commercially astute with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Desirable

• Experience with international expansion or multi-currency environments.
• Experience in retail or ecommerce highly desirable with a passion for fashion.
