Job summary

VanRath is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee the finance function of a forward-thinking manufacturing and engineering organisation in Northern Ireland. You will provide strategic financial insights to support ongoing growth and drive robust internal controls.

Qualifications

  • ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified with relevant higher education or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or similar sectors.
  • Proven experience managing finance teams and leading statutory and management reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing, inventory management, and financial controls.
  • Experience handling external audits and working with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly financial closes, produce management accounts, and deliver KPI reports punctually and accurately.
  • Maintain robust internal controls, manage balance sheet reconciliations, and oversee cash flow reporting.
  • Manage statutory compliance including VAT, corporation tax, and external audits.
  • Lead manufacturing finance activities such as standard costing, inventory control, and margin analysis.
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and mentor the finance team, encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Implement system enhancements and support automation initiatives to optimise processes.
