Job summary

VanRath Search & Selection is recruiting a Financial Controller in Limavady, Northern Ireland. The role oversees the finance function and delivers strategic financial insight to support growth, close monthly accounts, manage controls, and coordinate audits in a manufacturing environment.

You will lead a finance team, drive costing accuracy, inventory controls, and robust financial processes, reporting to senior management in a dynamic global business.

Qualifications

• Qualified with ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent and senior finance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or similar sectors.
• Proven capability leading finance teams and reporting.
• Strong costing, inventory, controls and audit experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management.
• Detail oriented and highly analytical.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly closes, management accounts, and KPI reporting.
• Maintain internal controls, balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow.
• Coordinate VAT, corporation tax, and external audits.
• Lead manufacturing finance: standard costing, inventory, margins.
• Plan budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Develop and mentor the finance team; drive process improvements.

About you

• ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified with relevant higher education or equivalent experience
• Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or similar sectors
• Proven experience managing finance teams and leading statutory and management reporting
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing, inventory management, and financial controls
• Experience handling external audits and working with ERP systems
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
• Resilient, adaptable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment

What you'll do

• Oversee monthly financial closes, produce management accounts, and deliver KPI reports punctually and accurately
• Maintain robust internal controls, manage balance sheet reconciliations, and oversee cash flow reporting
• Manage statutory compliance including VAT, corporation tax, and external audits
• Lead manufacturing finance activities such as standard costing, inventory control, and margin analysis
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making
