A leading manufacturing firm based in Leeds is seeking a Financial Controller who will eventually progress to Finance Director. You will be responsible for preparing board reports, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate is an ACA/ACMA/ACCA qualified accountant with significant experience in financial management within an SME environment. Strong Sage expertise and excellent communication skills are essential for this role, which promises significant growth opportunities.

A small but profitable and growing family owned business the fits into the world of Manufacturing and supplying UK and global markets from its head offices here in Leeds. The Financial Controller will support the production of key accounting information for the board as well as heading a small team. Having demonstrated mostly organic growth till now they are poised for more growth and have established themselves as a leader in their field of expertise. The role will not only support the board in strategic decisions, but also have a meticulous attention to detail and not be afraid to get into the numbers as this is certainly not and ivory tower appointment 100% led by strategy alone. Essentially, the role of Financial Controller is targeting a technically competent ACA/ACMA/ACCA qualified accountant capable of demonstrating exposure in financial management and operations, ideally within a similar SME environment. An ability to work independently and take initiative while contributing to the strategic vision of the company is a given at this level. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with the board, auditors, and banking partners with a capability to challenge inefficiency and process improvement. A self-starter attitude and the capability to dive into the finer details of financial operations.
