Financial Controller - Hinckley

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 (Office Based)

The Opportunity

An established and growing manufacturing and distribution business is seeking a Financial Controller ready to take ownership of a full finance function and play a central role in driving business performance and growth. This hands‑on, number one role in finance offers both strategic input and day‑to‑day involvement in a fast‑moving, product‑led environment.

Join a thriving UK business that has experienced steady organic growth and is now aiming to accelerate from 10% to 25% annual growth. The company has invested heavily in UK manufacturing, reshoring production from overseas, and continues to expand its product range.

You will work closely with a forward‑thinking management team, providing commercial insight, driving financial performance and influencing key strategic decisions as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the finance function as the number one in finance, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
  • Bring a strong commercial perspective to financial reporting, supporting better decision‑making across the business.
  • Partner with operations, sales and supply chain teams to enhance margins and support growth initiatives.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Stay hands‑on with day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Support the company’s growth objective of achieving 25% year‑on‑year expansion through effective commercial control and financial leadership.
About You

Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Head of Finance within a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) or product‑based environment. Experience selling into retail, hardware or related consumer markets, with an understanding of offers, deals and value within the supply chain.

Strong commercial acumen, hands‑on and proactive, with the confidence to influence at board level while remaining involved in day‑to‑day activity.

Prepared to work five days a week on‑site. Qualifications are less important than experience, capability and attitude.
