Job summary

Citadel Source, partnering with a leading FMCG business, seeks a Financial Controller to strengthen financial control, lead management accounting, reporting, and compliance. You will report to the Finance Director and guide a fast-paced team in delivering accurate insights and robust governance across the UK operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Management Accounts and Reporting teams.
• Oversee month-end close and provide insightful variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate budgeting and reforecasting cycles and provide strategic financial insight.
• Partner with Operations and FP&A to identify efficiency opportunities.

Overview Citadel Source is delighted to be partnering with a leading FMCG business to support the search for their new Financial Controller. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a fast-growing FMCG organisation headquartered in Central Bristol. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial control, driving performance, and supporting the delivery of the company's strategic objectives in a fast-paced environment. Working as part of the SMT, you will lead the management accounting, reporting, and control for the Finance function, ensuring accurate and insightful reporting, strong compliance, and the continual improvement of financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Management Accounts and Reporting teams to deliver timely, accurate, and value-adding analysis
• Ensure the finance function is structured and resourced effectively to meet business needs
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Oversee the month-end close process and deliver high-quality management reporting with insightful variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
• Maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and governance frameworks
• Act as the key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors
• Coordinate the annual budget and quarterly reforecasting cycles, integrating detailed operational and commercial inputs
• Provide strategic financial insight to support decision-making across the business
• Partner with the Operations and FP&A teams to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
• Lead or support key finance projects, including systems improvement, process automation, and performance enhancement initiatives

About you / Qualifications
