Job summary

Fort William, Scottish Highlands-based Financial Controller role with relocation support and sign-on bonus. Our client seeks a qualified finance professional to own financial reporting, cash management, budgeting and forecasting within a complex industrial environment.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will lead the transactional finance team and ensure robust controls, accurate reporting and insightful financial planning across site operations.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CIMA or CA qualification required.
• Experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance role.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities.
• ERP experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and business reporting.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and daily cash requirements.
• Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare statutory accounts and support external audits.
• Develop management information and financial reporting for decision-making.

Our key client, a major player in the UK renewables and manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance team in Lochaber.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of financial reporting, cash management, budgeting and forecasting within a complex industrial environment. The business is looking for the right long-term fit and is open to considering candidates with the experience and ambition to take on broader responsibilities as the finance function continues to evolve.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will lead the transactional finance team whilst ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective financial planning across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the finance team.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be ACCA, CIMA or CA qualified.
• Have experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance position.
• Possess strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Demonstrate excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Have advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
• Be proactive, commercially aware and focused on continuous improvement.
• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP system would be advantageous.
