  • A flexible part-time working pattern (approx. 2 full days or 3-5 half days per week).
  • The opportunity to shape and develop a growing finance function.
  • A supportive and collaborative working culture.
What you\'ll be doing as Financial Controller

Working closely with the Managing Director and Office Manager, you will provide hands-on support, oversight, and training to help transition the business from outsourced quarterly reporting to a robust, in-house monthly reporting structure.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the transition from quarterly to monthly management reporting, developing internal processes and timetables.
  • Provide oversight and support to the Office Manager on bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, reconciliations, and other accounting tasks.
  • Conduct a financial procedures review, improving methodologies for both profit and loss and balance sheet items.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and policies, including spend approvals, cost tracking, and accruals procedures.
  • Liaise with external accountants during the transition phase to ensure smooth handover and accurate reporting.
  • Support the Operations Manager with the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring finance processes are properly integrated.
  • Deliver coaching and upskilling to team members to build confidence in financial processes and reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and insight to the Managing Director to support decision-making and planning.

  • Strong understanding of management accounting, VAT, and payroll.
  • Confident in reviewing and improving accounting systems, controls, and reporting structures.

  • Strong communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to support and develop non-finance colleagues.
  • Comfortable working independently in a hands-on, part-time capacity.
  • With a strong focus on innovation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement, they are now bringing more of their financial management and reporting processes in-house to support ongoing growth.
