Financial Controller

Location: Near Shipley, West Yorkshire (Hybrid - 1 day WFH following successful probation)

This pivotal role will take ownership of financial management and reporting within a fast-paced production environment, ensuring robust cost control, accurate performance insight, and strong business partnering with operational teams. You'll also provide oversight for a European production site, working collaboratively with group finance and supply chain colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with plant and operations managers to drive financial performance.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting processes.
• Investigate production variances, analyse trends, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain integrity of costing data, inventory controls, and master data.
• Provide clear, actionable financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Contribute to capital investment planning and ensure audit and compliance requirements are met.
• Work cross-functionally with group finance and supply chain teams to meet reporting standards.

About You

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, AAT, or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing or production finance environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance.
• Confident user of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and highly proficient in Excel.
• Excellent communicator, able to challenge constructively and influence at all levels.
